April 2014 Manis;

hello!~ :D

Hope you've been well! Time to catch up on manis ... once again :)

Starting April with my Cath Kidston inspired mani~ Essie Cute As A Button as base :D

My sister in law got her nails done and then I painted and put rhinestones on her nails.

Can't go wrong with a leopard print mani :) I used China Glaze Too Yacht To Handle and Studio M's Sex Symbol (the silver glitter).

A pink glitter gradient~

And this mani was inspired by Megan of razonmeg :D

This is it for now, hope you have a great weekend! :D

Have a good one!,

Fair Isle Mani + BPS Brush Set Review;

hi!~

This is my 300th post! :D

I received this 4 piece liner nail art brush set from Born Pretty Store (and the handles are covered in florals! 8D)

I whipped up this fair isle print mani up this morning (yes, this is my current mani! :D) using the brushes that were sent to me. My accent nail was inspired by coewless and mikamlau. I used China Glaze First Mate as base and paired it up with Floss Gloss Dimepiece.

A big thanks to Alice of Born Pretty Store. Don't forget, you are always more than welcomed to use my coupon code, KL5X31, & save 10% off your order when you order from Born Pretty Store!~ :)

March 2014 Manis;

hello!~

and happy December! Can't believe it's already December and that the year is almost over! Today, I'm back to share some manis from earlier this year :)

I started March off with this mani.

Followed by this one.

This aztec-y mani was inspired by heynicenails. I used Floss Gloss Con Limon as base.

This was my damage back in March, haha.

A skittle mani with my, then, new China Glaze’s; from left to right, China Glaze - At Vase Value, Metro Pollen-Tin, Petal To The Metal, Grass is Lime Greener, What A Pansy, Too Yacht To Handle, Love’s A Beach, & Lotus Begin.

This watercolor floral mani was inspired by chelseaqueen. Excuse the lobster hand in the first pic.

I went to a Pistons game back in March and was planning on doing a Pistons themed mani … but then I ran out of time. So it looks like I was sporting a ‘Merica mani … hahaha

And that sums up March 2014.

Hope you all had a great weekend and great Thanksgiving!

Daily Charme Inspired Mani;

hi~

I came across this design by @daily_charme & totally fell in LOVE with it! I love everything about the mani … the simplicity, the colors, just errrrythaaang 8)

I used OPI Don’t Burst My Bubble as base, China Glaze First Mate (navy blue), Essie In The Cab-ana (aqua), OPI Elephantastic Pink (bright pink) & Zoya Richelle (gold).

Have a great day!

Zebra + Neon Phone Case Inspired Mani;

hey~

Over the summer, I purchased this Coach phonecase (from a Coach store, not from Amazon ... and definitely not for that price! haha) and I thought it would be nice to match my nails to the phone case~

I used Born Pretty Store Fluorescent CH 15 on my ring finger and to border the nails, China Glaze’s Bermuda Breakaway, & Orly Instant Nail Artist paint in Crisp White for the zebra print.

The Flourescent CH 15 polish is actually much, much brighter irl, my pictures show no justice. It's so washed out in my photos ... :( I did, however, swatch it a while ago; here is a link to the swatch if you're interested.

Have a good one~

Another Swallow Mani;

hi~

I had previously done a swallow mani and I decided it was time to give it another shot ... bad idea.

I used OPI’s Strangers Tide and China Glaze’s Recycle. I forgot how hard & complicated it was to paint swallows; didn't really like it this time.

Anyway, hope your week is going well.

Have a good one!,

"Aly En Vogue" Inspired Mani;

hi~

This was inspired by Steph Stone's mani -- which she used the NCLA nail wraps "Aly En Vogue" that she designed. Aren't they beautiful!? I love the design so much, I decided to free-hand them~ I have on 2 coats of China Glaze's Mimosa's Before Mani's and 2 coats of Orly's Pure Porcelain over the florals. The studs are from this stud box.

Have a good one!,

Simple Polka Dot Mani;

hey :)

I hope you had a great weekend -- for those of you who had a 3 day weekend like I did, I hope it was fun & relaxing~

Here is a mani I did 3 weeks back.

2 coats of Sally Hansen's Butterscotch, 2 coats of China Glaze's Mimosa's Before Mani's, and 2 coats of Orly's Pure Porcelain. Just wanted to mention that MBM looks darker in this picture than it really does irl, not sure why ...

A simple yet sufficient mani :)

Have a good one!,

Abstract Aztec Inspired Mani;

hi :)

According to instagram, I did this mani 12 weeks ago ... dang! I'm so behind!

This mani was inspired by Chelsea King's Abstract Aztec mani (LOOOOVE HER BLOG & NAILS!). I decided to switch it up and use colors different from what she used ... which I regret >__< I remember being kinda disappointed with this mani .. now looking at these pictures ... I understand why I was disappointed =X
The base color is Essie's Topless & Barefoot, the blue is Orly's Frisky, I think the burgundy is China Glaze's VII, the raspberry pink & pastel pink .. I cannot remember what polishes I used.

Have a good one!,

BPS Zipper Water Decals + Hot Pink Weave Chain Bracelet;

hi~

The last few items that were sent to me from Nicole of Born Pretty Store include zipper water decals and a hot pink weave chain bracelet.

For this mani, I used two coats of China Glaze's First Mate; let me just say that it applies like a dreeeeeam 8) Then I sponged on some white to give it more dimension. After that, I free-handed a pocket onto my middle finger nail, I applied the zipper decals, and I finished the mani with a coat of matte top coat.

Here's a picture without flash. I love the zipper on my thumb nail :D

Here is the cute weave chain bracelet that was also sent to me.

An awkward photo of me wearing the bracelet. hahaha OTL. It fits very well, it's very comfortable, and it's so pretty!! :D I need to pick up my arm candy game. hahaha

As always, a big thank you to Nicole of Born Pretty Store. Don't forget, you are always more than welcomed to use my coupon code & save 10% off your order when you order from Born Pretty Store!~ Here's the code is 'KL5X31' :)

Have a great day!,

Katrina's Nail Blog turns THREE!;

hello, hello :)

I'm so excited to say that today marks my blog's third year anniversary~ It's crazy to believe that three years ago, I just randomly decided to start a nail blog .. and to see it come this far ... its unbelievable! Thanks for all the love & support over the past three years ♥

In honor of my blog's third birthday, I decided to sport the same mani that started my blog back in 2010 -- here is a link to my first mani, first post, and first tutorial. Apparently, I did an all-in-one with this mani -- hahaha. I also did this same mani last year for my blog's second birthday.

I used Sinful Color's Cream Pink & China Glaze's Happy Go Lucky.

This blog has been ... quite something -- not sure what kind of 'something' .. but it's a good kind, that's for sure. hahaha, I don't even think that sentence makes sense ... but thanks for sticking with me thus far :D

Have a great day!,

Outfit Inspired Mani;

hi :D

Just a really quick mani to share today;

This was inspired by an outfit that I wore a few weeks ago (this design was also done a few weeks ago). Let me just say that those triangles on the thumb took foreverrrrrr to do! o__O The mustard yellow is Etude House's OR205 Tangerine Sherbert, the ivory-ish stripes are done with Orly's Pure Porcelain, and the pink hearts were painted on with China Glaze's Laced Up.

This is it for now, I hope your week starts out well :)

Have a good one!,

Purple Floral Mani & BPS 2mm Silver Square Stud Review;

hi~

A few days ago, my cousin came into town ... so I did her nails. This is the only nail art that I've done in the past month & a half .. smh.

The gray as base is 2 coats of Essence's Romeo, the ivory / nude is 2 coats of Orly's Pure Porcelain, and the purple that I used for the florals is OPI's Funky Dunkey ... and then I swirled a bit of Pure Porcelain with Funky Dunkey.

To finish off the mani, I added a few 2 mm silver square studs to a few of the nails ... which, imo, made the mani much cuter! The square studs were sent to me from Nicole over at Born Pretty Store. The studs are flat back so they're very easy to use and the size of the studs were just the perfect size.

By the way, the mani was inspired by this mani.

Anyway, a big thanks to Nicole of Born Pretty Store for the studs. Don't forget, you are always more than welcomed to use my coupon code & save 10% off your order when you order from BPS!~ Here's the code is 'KL5X31' :)

Well, I guess this is it for now.

Have a great day!,

last mani of 2012;

hey~

I decided to share one of the last manis that I sported in 2012. Since I was away for 3 weeks, the mani that I'll be showing was done over a month & a half ago ... o__O I know, I'm so behind on posting; but this is the last mani of 2012 that I have to share .. so it's still not too bad :P

2 coats of China Glaze's Custom Kicks. I used flash in this photo to show the beautiful golden shimmer running through the teal-turquoise polish. Ugh. It's absolutely beautiful but it's sooooo hard to capture on camera. The gold shimmer is more visible irl.

Here is an unnamed, baby bottle of glitter polish from Claire's. It came in a pack with 4 other glitter polishes.

I know, the lighting is off in those two pictures ... but its pretty color accurate on the polish .. and that's all that matters, right? :) Two coats of the Claire's glitter over Custom Kicks. The glitter is a teal-ish, thin jelly base with multi-colored glitters. The jelly over CK dulled out the gold shimmer... but it's ok.

And yea, that's all that I have to share. I'm completely wiped out -- no more manis to share and I don't have time right now to do my nails ... but its alright :P

2012 has been quite a year; it's been one of the best years for me personally. I'm having a bitter-sweet goodbye with 2012, but I'm most definitely looking forward for 2013~ I hope you've had a great year; thanks for sticking with me <3 Have a safe and happy New Year!

Until next year!,

Glitter Gradient Mani From Over A Month Ago;

hi :D

Yes, I did this mani wayyyy over a month ago and I am now just getting around to posting it up. With reviews that need to be posted and other manis I was doing, I completely forgot about this one... :P

It's pretty simple. I think the base is China Glaze's Kinetic Candy ... but honestly, I'm not too sure anymore. The gold glitter is Milani's Gold -- that I know for sure.

I hope your week has started off well; I'll have swatches up some time later this week.

Have a good one!,

Birds / Swallows / Mui Mui Print Mani;

hey :)

Hope all is well :D A while ago, my friend asked me to do a bird / swallow / Mui Mui print mani for her. I told her to let me practice the design first ... and this was my first attempt:

I posted this picture on instagram (@kahtreenahh). It didn't turn out too bad but I wasn't satisfied yet. I kept practicing the design for a while and decided to try out the design for myself.

The pink is Essie's Beach Party & the gray is China Glaze's Sea Spray. The birds are painted with acrylic paint.

The rhinestones I used are from Born Pretty Store. Nicole sent me the rhinestones a few weeks ago, I finally got to put them to use and I love them! They're about 1.8-1.9 mm ... they're pretty small .. yet they're the perfect size~ They just complete the mani :)

Here is another picture I posted on instagram ... I really like this photo :D

I'm still not satisfied with the mani ... there's something about the design that I don't like; I can't seem to pinpoint it though. Oh well ..

Anyway, a big thanks to Nicole of Born Pretty Store for the rhinestones. Don't forget, you are always more than welcomed to use my coupon code & save 10% off your order when you order from BPS!~ Here's the code is 'KL5X31' :)

Have a great day!,

BPS Flourescent Polish #15 review + palm tree mani;

hi :)

a few weeks ago, i was offered to review a few items for Born Pretty Store; i got a few items so i'll split them up and do a few separate reviews. first review, Flourescent Polish #15.

two coats. the polish was just a bit thick but it applied beautifully. for being a bright neon, it covered perfectly in two coats ... just amazing! its sooo bright & pretty. looooove it :) its a vibrant, bright, neon yellow with slight green undertones.

here's a picture with flash. the color looks a bit shrek-ish here .. but irl, its not. just imagine less green.

i decided to do a bright, neon gradient...

this is my instagram'd picture so its not exactly color accurate. the pink is China Glaze's Flip Flop Fantasy.

then i decided to do a palm tree mani;

this picture shows the polish colors better ..

but this picture shows the gradient better. irl, the colors more neon & vibrant.

a big thanks to Born Pretty Store for the items. don't forget, if you want to order anything from BPS, you are always more than welcomed to use my coupon code and save 7% off your order! feel free to take advantage of it! :D the code is 'KL5X31' and it is good until September 6, 2012.

have a good one!,
